Tubax was a company originated from Werkhuis Vits, a small mechanical construction workshop in Vilvoorde. In the 1920s, as steel furniture became more popular, Vits turned to furniture production. After WWII, the company was rebranded as Tubax and gained particular renown through its collaboration with the architect Willy Van Der Meeren, producing designs for social housing projects, among other things. While the Tubax coat racks in our collection are not attributed to a specific designer, their distinctive triple-stem configuration makes them instantly recognisable.
