This table was created for restaurant Les Filles in downtown Brussels following Enzo Mari's open-source design found in his 1974 handbook Autoprogettazione.
This handbook describes furniture pieces that anyone can make using cheap, widely available materials (originally 10 cm-wide pine boards). Enzo Mari and other designers of his time developed a strong interest in Do-It-Yourself as a reaction to the ideology of furniture mass production.
