Terrazzo 'Vetisol Cristo' leftovers (C-quality) - Only available in our physical shop
Mortar is 6.5% polyester resin and 93.5% mineral fillers (marble, dolomite, various fillers).
Tiles were originally installed as an outside wall cladding, held with aluminium profiles.
Suitable for use outdoor and indoor as wall cladding. Possible to use as flooring for non intensive use, no warranty for use as flooring.
One side is rougher than the other. These tiles require specific cleaning before being laid. Some stains are visible on the surface.
There are three different types of stain :
- Rust stains (orange): The rust is caused by the use of iron aggregate. Simply scrub the affected area with a small amount of multi-cleaner for flooring, then polish the surface using a polishing machine with a felt pad, and rinse the tile.
- Mold stains (black and pink): The mold is due to fungus that thrive on humidity and the lack of oxygen, resulting from tiles being stored outdoors in piles for a long period of time. The tile can be partially cleaned with bleach (or a sodium hypochlorite-based product for exterior surfaces). Bleach can be used, but mainly on exterior surfaces. A small amount of bleach can help restore the brightness of the stone. If used indoors, it should be applied sparingly, and the area must be well ventilated to allow chlorine fumes to dissipate. Simply apply the product and leave it on the stain for anywhere from a few minutes to several hours, depending on how old the stain is, to allow it to absorb the residue. Then rinse with clean water.
- Ground-in stains from the original installation: These stains caused by the orientation of the previous installation are deeply set and difficult to clean without damaging the stone. Gently dry sand the surface using a very fine abrasive sponge or sandpaper. Be cautious and use a light hand to avoid altering the finish of the stone.
We recommend applying a water/oil repellent solution to protect the surface of the terrazzo from stains and wear and preserve its beauty over time.
