These bespoke wall-mounted benches in solid oak were salvaged from the cafeteria of the Générale de Banque in Brussels. The cafeteria was designed by Christophe Gevers between 1976 and 1978 as part of a large-scale commission covering 2,700 square meters on the second floor of the company's Montagne du Parc headquarters.

The seating and backrest consist of horizontal planks of varnished solid oak, which are assembled and fixed to steel cantilever structures with afzelia wood feet (designed to match with the original end-grain parquet flooring of the cafeteria).

A decade ago our team dismantled these elements at the request of BNP Paribas Fortis. The bank carefully preserved them in anticipation of a project that never materialized, so they have returned to us after all these years.

4 models are available:

Model 1: The length is 550,5 cm.

Model 2: The length is 462 cm. 

Model 3: The length is 464,5 cm. Its structure varies from the other models. It consist of a single welded structure with an L-shape at the end of the structure (see last images). The feet are damaged or missing.

Model 4: The length is 696 cm.

Used condition. There are some visible traces of use such as chips, scratches, paint splashes and glue residues. Some rust marks are visible on the steel structure. Feet are damaged. Dusty, needs to be cleaned.

The bench is not free-standing; it must be fixed to the wall (we do not supply fixing screws). The benches are sold dismantled. Assembling screws may not be original.

As each piece is unique, we recommend to inspect the product physically at our shop before buying.
