Table Talk is a collaboration between furniture and interior designer Axelle Vertommen and textile designers Emma Terweduwe and Leda Devoldere. Beside their own design practice, this collab emerged from a series of roundtable discussions about the challenges of working independently and how designers can support one another.
Dining connects. Table Talk is inspired by the classic bistro table: a small, round table where all kinds of conversations can take place. The design is made from leftover marble (Rotor DC) with a colored metal ring, between which a tablecloth is stretched. The tablecloth is made from leftover textiles (Kvadrat) and embroidered with various shapes, creating a visual dialogue. The result is an object with a unique and playful composition, shaped by the available waste streams.
