Léém Clay Paint is a mineral textured paint (aka ‘clay wash’), and Léém Clay Finish can be applied in a layer of just a few millimeters. Both products are suitable for interior walls and ceilings. It is typically used on already homogenized surfaces such as gypsum, porous stone, clay- or lime-based plasters, bricks, natural or synthetic paints, solid wood, and engineered wood panels.
To ensure a fine texture, the ingredients undergo a drying step in the production process, which is why they come in powder form. Although it's uncommon for paints to be sold this way, it makes perfect sense: the powder is easy to transport, and it can be stored indefinitely in a dry environment.
A clay finish is not only beautiful to look at, it is also a healthy material whose composition is easy to explain: more than 99% is a mixture of clay and ‘Brusseliaan’ sand, with a small amount of methylcellulose, acacia gum and sodium salt for binding. Available in 4 colors - cream, brown, grey and red - they can be mixed in controlled proportions to obtain new shades. There is a blending guide specifically developed for this purpose!
