'Jules' light

Published on 17/07/2026

Finally! After weeks of prototyping, here is our ‘Jules’ light! It was created in our lighting workshop using our remaining stock of small, white-lacquered steel plates, which we salvaged from the former headquarters of the Générale de Banque HQ in Brussels! In the entrance hall from 1973, designed by Jules Wabbes, these plates formed a continuous ceiling, hiding the cables and ventilation ducts, whilst serving as a vast light-diffusing device. Interestingly, each plate could pivot individually at its mounting point, so that two consecutive plates could be oriented at an angle with one another. This feature has also been put to good use in the ‘Jules’ lamp, allowing you to manually configure the way the light spreads.

This model can be used as either a ceiling light or a wall light. When placing your order via our webshop, you can choose between standard wiring or a version with a flexible cable fitted with a plug and a switch, ideal for use in non-permanent settings. The aluminium disc that holds the plates is a custom-made component, manufactured specifically for this model.
