Large beams in laminated timber used in warehouse building often end up being destroyed during demolition. This is because the cost of removing them carefully from a building, plus the cost of transport for these large elements is often lower than the market value of a second hand beam.
We conceived a method of extraction where the beams are cut in shorter lengths, and cut in their height. The result is a panel of 8 to 10cm thick, that can take large spans and is ideal for all sorts furnishings. The panels can serve as spectacular table tops, but can also be used to make stairs, partitions, benches and other furniture.
