Glued laminated beams are essential structural elements in contemporary architecture. Made up of layers of wood glued together, this material was developed from the beginning of the 20th on to expand the possibilities of solid wood construction beyond the limits imposed by the size of a tree trunk. They have been widely used to support loads in commercial, residential, and industrial buildings, as well as in bridges and civil engineering structures. Their manufacturing allows for a wide variety of dimensions and shapes, making them suitable for long-span buildings, for example.
Faced with an abundance of glued laminated beams available from demolitions and renovations, RotorDC has developed ranges of panels suitable for furniture manufacturing. By transforming these reclaimed materials into new functional and aesthetic products, RotorDC is committed to keep this (almost) solid wood in the circuit.
