This service door has been salvaged in 2014 by our team from the former headquarters of the Générale de Banque (now BNP Paribas Fortis). The building, constructed between 1968 and 1979, was located on the Warandeberg in Brussels. Two renowned Belgian designers from that period, Jules Wabbes and Christophe Gevers, were commissioned to design the interiors. They are both well-known for their meticulous approach to craftsmanship and distinctive use of high-quality, timeless materials. Each salvaged item has developed its own unique patina during its time in use.
The product features a single door in stainless steel with a bronze door handle by Jules Wabbes. The front handle is in cast-bronze but the handle at the back is in stainless steel (see last image). Lock case and handles are included in the price. Hinges and key are missing.

Used condition. There are a some scratches, corrosion traces and tiny chips. The handles feature natural variations and subtle pitting corrosion. The sand-casting method has given the door handle a rough finish with minor surface irregularities and texture differences that are inherent to the casting process. Dusty, needs to be cleaned. For storage purpose, the handles are dismantled from the door.
Please note: this product is unique and has been salvaged from a bespoke project, meaning each piece may require specific additional work to reinstall. As the items are non-standard and the original mounting system is not included, some adaptation of fixings may be necessary. The axis or spindle may also require disassembly, cleaning, and lubrication where it has become stuck, and minor adjustments or realignment may be needed to ensure smooth operation.
