In the interior of the General de Banque Headquarters in Brussels (1971-1973), the Belgian designer Jules Wabbes decided to install for the entrance hall this suspended structure as a wall-to-wall set up to hide all technical devices from the ceiling - such as ventilation grills, lighting, smoke detectors. The surface which resembled bank notes hanging from the ceiling was referred to as 'Mille Feuille'.

It consists of a pair of support profiles which are placed parallel every 160 cm to each other for hanging other profiles with the little 'Mille Feuille' plates attached.

The height of the total setup is 17 cm, but at least 20 cm needs to be planned to facilitate hanging. The height for optional lighting devises needs to be added to this, but can be kept to a minimum when using LED panels. The lighter profiles can easily be cut. However, the ceiling cannot be used for vertical cladding.

The product includes 2 structural profiles (242,5 cm long) and 33 'Mille Feuille' profiles in lacquered steel. It covers an area of 3,9 m².

The ceiling can be extended in width thanks to the notches on both sides of
the structural profile in order to welcome the 'Mille Feuille' profiles. Some profile connectors are also available to extend the length.
